Time for a new adventure: Adventure Play Ohio to open in December

What is it: A new adventure will debut in Perkins Township this winter.

Adventure Play, an indoor inflatable play park, will open in December in Park Place Plaza on U.S. 250.

The building, next to Staples, was "the only facility that was big enough to hold us,” says Sandusky resident and owner Rob Stein.

Why is it important: Stein, who describes his hometown as "the little big city between Cleveland and Toledo," and his wife have three children and love to find fun family activities, plentiful during the summer months, but not so much in the winter.

That is about to change.

Stein chose Sandusky for the location of Adventure Play because the town is known for holding and breaking records. Sandusky has the tallest, fastest, longest roller coasters in the world. The Great Wolf Lodge was the first indoor water park in Ohio. Kalahari Resorts & Conventions was the largest indoor water park in the country. Surf's Up Aquatic Center was the country's first community wave action pool.

Stein wants Adventure Play to make its mark in the record books by becoming Ohio's largest indoor inflatable Adventure Park. Adventure Play would not only be Ohio's largest, but Ohio's first stand-alone indoor inflatable park, Stein says.

The new play area will boast 13,000 square feet of jumping fun. Adventure Play will consist of 17 attractions that cater to everyone from toddlers to adults. The facility is designed to give a glow party experience. Each attraction is themed to take part in the glow experience by using glow-in-the-dark colors, LED lights, and lasers.

"We believe in family fun entertainment,” Stein says. "We believe in providing the opportunity for family and friends to have fun, play, and exercise in one place.”

The attractions are not only just for recreational use, as they also will provide competitive activities and team-building opportunities., Stein notes. Adventure Play will be the only facility in the world that will have an inflatable DJ booth and a three-tier Soft Play Structure with LED Lane Slides incorporated in the inflatable park.

How to get involved: Adventure Play will offer different monthly membership programs and birthday party packages with two giant inflatable birthday party rooms. It will also host corporate and private events.

Stein says the business will have lock-ins for youth groups, schools, and parties and participate in community outreach programs. Adventure Play will also offer gift cards, and guests can purchase snacks at the concessions area or buy merchandise.
