Kick off the holiday season with Danny Boy's Pop-up Christmas Bar

What is it: Ring in the holiday season starting Nov. 14 at Sandusky’s first Pop-Up Christmas Bar at Danny Boy’s Italian Eatery, 6207 Milan Road.

Live music, a gift card giveaway, and discounted menu items will highlight the grand opening, which will take place from 6-8 p.m.

Guests will be greeted with “Christmas decor galore: floor to ceiling,” says Tamaira Price, director of operations for Danny Boy’s.

Patrons also can expect special holiday cocktails with souvenir mugs, a special holiday small bites menu, and live music every Thursday.

The pop-up itself will run through mid-January, Price says.

Why is it important: The idea for the pop-up came from seeing the popularity of pop-up bars in other places, and the desire to celebrate the holidays with area residents, Price says.

“We have Danny Boy’s locations in the greater Cleveland area, where pop-up bars have become a fun holiday tradition the past few years, and we thought it would be fun to bring that to the locals of Sandusky,” Price says. “We haven’t seen it become popular in this area yet, so we wanted to start the trend.”

How to get involved: Visit the grand opening Nov. 14 and throughout the holiday season during Danny Boy’s normal business hours, 11 a.m to 9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
