Why it's important: Events like those hosted by the Council allow for community members to celebrate traditions together, says Council member Susan Sartor.
"Whether enjoying the July 4th celebrations, the concerts in the park or sharing in the spirit of Christmas, hometown traditions and family values have always been the strength of the Sandusky Community Celebrations Council," Sartor says. "We welcome you to enjoy and celebrate with your friends and neighbors as we start the summer of 2024!"
Jason Werling, City of Sandusky recreation superintendent, echoes Sartor's sentiments.
"The Gazebo Concert Series is a Sandusky tradition that showcases the city’s historic Washington Park," Werling writes in a recent email. "The Sandusky Community Celebrations Council continues to bring consistent quality programming in one of the most picturesque places in Sandusky. The SCCC’s dedication to bringing free programming for city residents and visitors is much-appreciated, whether it is the summer Gazebo Concert Series, the Fourth of July Stars & Stripes Community Celebration or the Holiday Lighting Ceremony in November."
