Shores & Islands Ohio welcomes two new staff members


What is it: Shores & Islands Ohio recently welcomed two new staff members to its travel and tourism team, according to a press release from the destination marketing organization for Erie and Ottawa counties.

Meaghan Reynolds: Reynolds, of Port Clinton, has joined Shores & Islands Ohio as social media manager.

Courtesy of Shores & Islands OhioMeaghan ReynoldsA graduate of Ohio University, Reynolds previously worked in the social media and marketing field for Firelands Scientific, Fat Head’s Brewery, and  online retailer Pink Lily, according to a press release from Shores & Islands Ohio. She also ran her own business, M of Hope, for five years, and served as video content specialist for the Cleveland International Film Festival.

Reynolds is responsible for managing all aspects of the organization’s social media channels, from content creation to social media trends, leveraging social media activities for the destination, influencer marketing, and social media monitoring, according to the release.

"I’m so excited to connect with our partners, local businesses, and our followers on our social media platforms to help share their stories," Reynolds says. "I can’t wait to showcase the amazing destinations, experiences, and stories that our beautiful Shores & Islands has to offer! I’m looking forward to finding a creative way to bring more visitors here, and to really celebrate everything that makes our region a must-visit. In doing so, I can’t wait to find more hidden gems and more reasons to personally love this area even more.”

A graduate of Bowling Green State University, Ollervides most recently was a marketing and advertising account executive with Buckeye Broadband. He has also taken on the roles of an instructor at BGSU Firelands, multimedia marketing consultant for Tandem Media, and social media coordinator at Catawba Island Brewing Company, according to the release.

In his new position, Ollervides will network to advance Shores & Islands Ohio promotional opportunities to prospective partners, including welcoming any new tourism-related businesses in the region, the release states. He will serve as the main liaison between the organization and its partners to ensure they are aware and taking advantage of all marketing opportunities available through Shores & Islands Ohio.

"I am excited to contribute to the already stellar reputation of S&IO as a champion for our amazing destination communities," says Ollervides. "I look forward to meeting with our incredible partners, establishing new relationships, and growing those partnerships for years to come."
