From Wheels to Walls: Archie’s finds a home in downtown Sandusky

What a difference a year makes.

At this time last year, Jeremey and Mallie Adams were putting their popular food truck business, Archie’s Pizza Truck, to bed for the winter.

This year, they’re putting the finishing touches on their brick-and-mortar location in downtown Sandusky.

Archie’s Pizza Truck, whose name comes from the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, inked a deal with Clubhouse No. 3 SportSocial to offer its St. Louis-style pizza at the club. The physical space, at 120 Wayne St., will assume the name of Archie’s at Clubhouse No. 3.

The HelmJeremey seasons one of Archie's signature St. Louis-style pizzas.“We love the Sandusky community, the lake and all the friends we have made over the last two years,” Jeremey Adams says.

The decision to partner with Clubhouse comes after Jeremey and Mallie searched for a permanent location but “weren’t able to find ‘that spot,’” Jeremey says.

“We had done four or five events at Clubhouse No. 3 and really enjoyed the vibe,” he says.

When the Adamses learned that Clubhouse owners, Steve, Ryan, and Maxx Tamburrino, were updating the basement area, Jeremey and Mallie reached out and suggested adding a small pizza kitchen. The Tamburrinos took that idea and offered them more than just a kitchen–they served up the spot just around the corner from the main entrance to the Clubhouse.

“We fell in love with it and all its possibilities,” Jeremey says. “Archie’s at Clubhouse No. 3 was born.”

The new business will offer the same pizza its customers have come to love, with its cracker-like crust, Provel cheese, and semi-sweet sauce cut into squares. Follow Archie’s at Clubhouse No. 3’s social media pages for information on an upcoming soft opening.

“We are overly excited to bring our unique brand of pizza to Sandusky full time,” Jeremey says.  “It’s not your typical Ohio-style pizza. It’s something new and fresh to the area.”

That unique brand of pizza won’t be the only offerings. The menu will expand to include items like pizza nachos, chicken bacon ranch pizza, a rotating “Pizza of the Month,’ and a breakfast pizza on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. And to bring even more St. Louis flavor to the menu, patrons will get to sink their teeth into an STL staple: the toasted ravioli.

The HelmArchie's at Clubhouse No. 3 is located at 120 Wayne St., Sandusky.“A brick-and-mortar allows us to offer a much larger menu and continue to introduce even more flavors of St. Louis,” Jeremey says.

Can’t make it to Wayne Street? Don’t worry.

“Archie’s Pizza Truck will be out and about as soon as the weather breaks,” Jeremey says. “We will still be at your favorite events, wineries and farmers markets.”

The duo have already started booking the truck for 2025, including graduation parties, weddings, and private events.

Having the ability to operate not only a physical location but also the truck is no longer a (pizza) pie in the sky dream for the Adamses.

“Having this location means everything to us,” Jeremey says. “It is an absolutely amazing opportunity.

“With the vast expansion of Sandusky from the State Theater to Battery Park, we are in the literal middle of it. What an exciting opportunity and time. It is a humbling experience to be part of it all.”
